"Chaos. A maelstrom of combat plagues the land. The people suffer, but will rally behind the wielder of the Eye of Goros, an artifact that can heal the wounded land. It was buried and lost eons ago. The first lord to uncover the Eye will unite the people and conquer the land."

This map is the largest in the game; it's also one of the few without any water. The terrain is mostly grass and dirt, with a section of snow to the South. The landscape is covered with trees, creating the effect of an outdoor maze. This map can be made much easier by defeating all your opponents first, leaving you to take your time in completing the primary objective. However, this in itself is a tall order; it would be much easier and faster to ignore enemy heroes and work straight towards your target.
There are nine (9) neutral towns in this map. They are all random. There is no Dragon city on this map.
Your primary objective is to find the Eye of Goros. You do this by visiting the obelisks throughout the land to reveal pieces of the map where the Eye is buried. Yes, this is exactly the way in which you would find the ultimate artifact in most maps. However, there is no ultimate artifact in this map, as the obelisks lead to the Eye of Goros instead.
Don't spend too much time fighting your enemies. While you spend time doing that, your enemies are working to find the Eye of Goros. You and your opponents start far apart from each other, seperated by the forest. Take advantage of this by quickly sending out scouts to grab artifacts, resources, mines, and, of course, visit obelisks.
Here is a cheap trick to find the Eye of Goros quickly. Start the map, and play without saving, OR save in a seperate file, leaving your file at the beginning unchanged. Play through the map until someone finds the Eye of Goros. If you know approximately where it was, you can re-load the previously saved game and go straight to that location, dig, and hopefully find the artifact. By doing this, you can greatly improve your score, since it is based on how fast you complete the campaign. Also, it is not necessary to visit all the obelisks. If you go to a few, and get a general idea of where the artifact is, just send another hero there to dig until it appears. The task of locating the Eye is made difficult by the monotonuous, repetitive terrain. This can make pinpointing the location of the Eye quite difficult. This is why you should send out scouts immediately to explore and reveal the map for you.

Be on the lookout for obelisks. Some are hard to see. There's one, in particular, just east of the Warlock castle. It's a red one, hidden behind a tree. You'd miss it if you weren't looking for it. You can see just a little bit of the tip sticking up above the tree in front of it. There's a small break in the trees leading up to it, next to a crystal mine. This is in a clearing east of the Warlock castle. |

In about the center of the map, there is a cache of artifacts in the middle of the forest. The left picture shows the approximate location; there is a graveyard directly to the right. The artifacts are located in a small clearing, the entrance to which is guarded by some Dragons. Additionally, you cannot just walk up to the clearing; you must use Dimension Door from a break in the trees nearby. You can see the details in the right picture. If you have a substantial army, and the DD spell, you could grab these artifacts; they'll likely give your hero a boost. |
