"Warned of your approach, the Sorceress Queen Lamanda worked a dreadful magic and sank the approach to the only port. You must find the teleport gate to assault the Southwestern land and capture the port. From there you must struggle through the forest maze to locate her castle in the extreme Northwest."

Map size: medium Win condition: capture Castle Lamanda Defeat condition: be defeated |
Sorceress location: North island Knight , Barbarian, Warlock location: Southeast island |
This is the third map where you must defeat a specific hero type. That type being Sorceress, those playing the Sorceress campaign do not need to do this map. The others, however, will have to complete this map to continue.
The Sorceress starts on the Northern island, as usual, with three castles and three towns, along with an ample supply of resources and mines. They also start with a lot of artifacts nearby. You start on the grassy island in the Southeast corner, with enough wood, ore, and artifacts to get you going, as well as a town and castle of your type. You cannot reach Castle Lamanda from here, however.
Important information: the Sorceress cannot build boats, so she cannot attack you. You are safe until you move onto her island. That said, take the time to fully explore and conquer your beginning surroundings. Build up both castles, grab all the artifacts, mines, and resources on your island. Do the same with the second island you come to.
To reach the second island, go to the Northeast corner of your beginning island. There is a glowing lith which will take you to the second island, a swatch of dirt in the Southwest corner. Capture the single town there, build it up, build the shipyard, and build yourself a boat. Take the time here, also, to get all the resources and artifacts lying around. Also, strengthen your army with troops from the once-was neutral castle.
There is a Dragon city on this map, as well as a lighthouse. When you have built sufficient strength, you may wish to capture the Dragon City to increase your gold income. The Dragon City is on the small Western island, whereas the lightouse is on the small Eastern island. The lightouse is useful here too, since it will increase the speed with which you move over the water.
Eventually, you will have to move on to the Sorceress island. Get your best hero onto a boat with a sizeable army, and with as many spells as he can get. Sail Northeast until you find a small bit of grass sticking out into the water. This is the only way onto the Sorceress island. Don't leave the boat for a Sorceress to use to cause trouble; have another hero cast Summon Boat to bring it back so it can't be used by someone else.
There is another clusters of obelisks on this map, North of the Southwest Sorceress castle. Again, you need Dimension Door to move up through the forest from the aforementioned castle. Again, finding the ultimate artifact can give your hero a big boost.
You can capture all the other Sorceress castles and beat the other heroes if you really want to, but it's a lot of trouble and time. The quickest way to win would be to go straight for Castle Lamanda; however, it's your choice. It would actually be a good idea to capture a castle or two, so you can get extra troops for your army. If you don't do this, you'll need to keep shipping new troops from either of your own islands. Also, in the process, you may gain useful artifacts, as well as more spells.
However, if you wish to go straight to Castle Lamanda, take the second East path from your boat landing, and follow it around to to Castle Lamanda. It is the one in the Northwest corner. If you managed to get Dimension Door, this can shorten your journey considerably, since you can teleport over the forest instead of going around.
"You have burst through the forest maze and destroyed Lamanda's castle."
