Primary Skills

Primary Skills

Every hero has these skills, regardless of type. I will describe the effects of each below. Additionally, if you are playing the game and click on the picture, you will see a quick explanation of the item.

Martially oriented heroes, such as Knights and Rangers, will tend to increase in the area of attack and defense whereas magic heroes like Wizards and Warlocks focus on their spell power and knowledge. When a hero goes up a level, he will gain an automatic primary skill increase- there's no choice. The odds of a hero increasing a particular skill is different for each hero type. The odds for each hero type is displayed on their respective pages (the Heroes pages). They are also summarized below.

Attack Attack: A hero's attack rating is added to each of their creature's attack ratings, increasing the amount of damage they do in combat.

Defense Defense: A hero's defense rating is added to each of their creature's defense ratings, which decreases the amount of damage they take from enemy attacks.

Spell Power Spell Power: When a hero casts a spell, the Power skill determines how powerfully the spell is cast. While this varies from spell to spell, the Power rating determines how long a spell's effects will last or how much damage it will do.

Knowledge Knowledge: Each point of knowledge a hero has adds 10 spell points to their maximum spell point total. Spell points are used when spells are cast.

Morale and Luck

Morale and luck aren't really primary skills, but I like to put them with primary skills anyway, since they are grouped together on the hero status screen. They are natural skills (as opposed to gained through a secondary skill- every hero has these skills), which is another reason I like to keep them with the regular skills. Remember, though, Necropolis troops and elementals have neutral morale. Find out more about morale and luck on the General Information page.

Morale Morale: In combat, low morale can cause creatures to freeze. High morale can allow them extra attacks. See General Information for more details.

Luck Luck: Good luck increases a creature's chance to do double damage. Bad luck is very rare. See General Information for more details.

Experience and Spell Points

Experience and spell power aren't really primary skills either, but again, I like to keep them with primary skills as in the game.

Experience Experience: Displays the amount of experience a hero has, and what level he is at. Also displays the experience required to go up another level.

Spell Points Spell Points: Clicking here reveals how mny spell points a hero has remaining. Related to Knowledge, so it is a primary skill in a sense.
